Meditation group practice times

Whether you have never meditated or if you are a long time meditator, we welcome you to the meditation group practice.

When: Every Thursday            Every Friday
Time: 7:00  - 8:15 p.m.            7:00 - 8:15 p.m.
Where: Davenport School of Yoga*
Cost: Free will offering

Approximate Thursday Evening Timetable

7:00 - 7:10 p.m. Gentle Yoga (awareness of the body)

7:10 - 7:20 p.m. Guided meditation

7:20- 7:35 p.m. Walking meditation

7:35 - 7:55 p.m. Sitting meditation

7:55 - 8:15 p.m. Mindful sharing/deep listening

Description

Each week the session begins with a guided meditation. Guided meditations may change weekly, and generally include focussing on the breath or relaxing the body. Other guided mediations at times may include meditation on cultivating loving-kindness or interconnectedness.

During walking meditation, the group walks slowly while focusing on the movement of the feet and legs
The last sitting is a silent sitting meditation for twenty minutes.

During discussion time, the group may talk about their experience during the meditations and/or share their experiences with mindfulness in daily life.
